Sound proofing of rooms was really poor. I was able to listen my neighbers, people in corridor and street
The location and the staff. We came into the lobby for checking-in, totally outraged with the parking situation, and were met by the nicest receptionist possible, whose attitude greatly improved our moods.
The parking situation at the moment of our arrival (and later, too) was truly idiotic. The hotel would do much better describing the situation before the guests arrive: where exactly to arrive (on 6th avenue instead of on Broadway), where to stop one's car, etc. We had to drive about 5 times around the block before we could find a place to stop our car. With the existing quality of parking, $40 per day for valet parking is way too high, considering the inconvenience of stopping the car for the valets to pick up. Another idiotic situation arose during the stay: the hotel sent a plumber to check the bathroom. I was taking a shower at the time and barely had time to put on my bath robe before a man, the plumber, ran into the bathroom. That was totally disrespectful toward the guests and totally unacceptable. Other than this, our stay was quite pleasant. And if you don't come by car and don't let the plumber enter your room whenever they wanted, you are safe to stay in the hotel.
The building is an old bank that was opened in 1928. There are volts, and very interesting things to go exploring and find in the hotel. Very cool old pictures and artifacts.
Parking is expensive. $40 per night, $12 per hour and $8 for each additional hour at the hotel.
Room service was great, the yogurt and berries were amazing, bar staff were attentive
I liked the location very much, comfort of the room, the view, breakfast in the lobby and the courtesy of the staff
The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The history and architecture was very interesting as well.
I wish I had known there was no on site parking and that the valet fee was $40. That changed my great bargain into a not so great deal.
Great hotel! Great location! Amazing lobby and decor! Rooms are modern chic and updated but they kept a lot of the historic charm. Building was built in 1928 and used to be the San Diego Trust and Bank. Did not feel like the discount chain of the Marriott line felt like a 5 star property.
The courtyard Marriott was amazing! It was in the Gaslamp District so there were bars and restaurants all around us. Every staff member always had a smile on their face, greeted us anytime we passed them, and were ready to help. The hotel is in a historical building that used to be a bank. There are still pieces of the bank in the hotel and there is a conference room built in a money vault.we felt safe staying at this hotel because at night you need your card to enter the hotel, and every time you go in the elevator you have to use your room card and then press your room floor. The rooms were cozy, clean and updated. The tv had great channel options and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be staying here when we come back to San Diego!
It was hard to find the hotel because the sign is really small, but eventually we found it. The price for parking was steep, but valet staff were very nice to recommend affordable self parking structures close by to the hotel.
Beautiful old building. No facilities are made like this any more.
The staff was very courteous and helpful and the location is top-notch!
Pillows are too soft!
Mostly clean (though our one-year-old discovered some very old trash under a chair), extremely well-located, beautiful building, attentive staff.
Not disclosed: parking is $40 a night, or an extra 20% on top of the room charge. This was not clearly disclosed on either Booking or at the hotel.
the restaurant is simple but very good. Excellent staff. Good position, close to Westfield. Clean and rennovated rooms. nice bed.
The room was separated only by a door to the room next to me, so I could hear anything they said. The breakfast only by menu choices, while I prefer the buffet stile.
When we checked in, the staff could not find our reservation. Seems Booked.net did not get it thru to them. But the guy was very cool, professional n called Booked.net n got it sorted.
Convenient to where my meetings were
They did not have me reserved for two nights as I had booked it.
Nice old building, maintained well, rooms fairly spacious
Neighborhood just OK Parking very expensive
